We are very pleased to announce that the official National Museum for Maritime History of Norway, NMM (Norsk Maritimt Museum) have given their blessing and support to our initiative to bring the wreck of Maud back home to Norway and Vollen, and build a Maud-Museum around the remains of this once proud polar ship of Roald Amundsen.

NMM emphasizes the fact that the Maud expedition was of great importance to the polar exploration history, and a new Maud museum in Vollen will be of great value and importance to communicate in more detail the pioneering part of our polar history.

Norwegian Maritime Museum will also support the project with necessary expertise in the process of conservation of the salvaged wreck of Maud. NMM expresses faith in the project initiative and feel that the plans are well thought through and exciting.
